LYRICS Our parlour wanted papering, and Pa said it was a waste to call a paper-hanger in And so he made some paste He bought some rolls of paper, And a ladder And a brush And with my mummy’s nightgown on, at it he made a rush! When father painted the parlour You couldn’t see him for paste Dabbing here, dabbing it there Paste and paper everywhere Mother stuck to the ceiling Children stuck to the floor Well I never seen such a blooming’ family so stuck up before! Soon dad fell down the stairs And dropped his paper-hanger’s can on little Henrietta sitting there with her young man The paste stuck them together As we thought it would be for life, we had to fetch the parson in To make them man and wife When father painted the parlour You couldn’t see him for paste Dabbing here, dabbing it there Paste and paper everywhere Mother stuck to the ceiling Children stuck to the floor Well I never seen such a blooming’ family so stuck up before! We’re never gonna move away from that house anymore For father’s gone stuck the chairs and tables to the floor We can’t find our piano- though its broad and rather tall: We think its behind the paper that Pa stuck on the wall! When father painted the parlour You couldn’t see him for paste Dabbing here, dabbing it there Paste and paper everywhere Mother was stuck to the ceiling Children stuck to the floor I never seen such a blooming’ family so stuck up before! Now father’s sticking’ in the pub through a-treadin’ in the paste And all the family’s so upset That they’ve all gone pasty-faced Well Pa says now that Ma has spread the news fro north to south He wishes that he’d dropped a blob of paste in mother’s mouth! When father painted the parlour You couldn’t see him for paste Dabbing here, dabbing it there Paste and paper everywhere Mother was stuck to the ceiling Children stuck to the floor Well I never seen such a blooming’ family so stuck up before!

LYRICS The slow and steady plod Up stony hill I gently trod, So silently, i climbed to see the view Of green and blue The meadows and the sky And every painted dragonfly Its like a dream of blue and green and blue If dreams came true I go in slo-mo I go solo You say “No way!” “No way Jose!” The world may pass you by Or poke a needle in your eye Its just a dream come true Of green and blue And so are you
